In the surroundings of the IPW, there is a comprehensive offer for training and continuing education available. With ten public schools, Walsrode is the central location for education in the county of Soltau-Fallingbostel.

Besides one of the largest high schools (Gymnasiums) in Lower Saxony, there are five primary schools, five secondary schools, as well as private schools, the free Waldorf School Benefeld and several vocational schools that offer a diversified selection of job-related training with an accompanying vocational high school (Gymnasium). The town of Walsrode further has its own youth- and cultural center which is active in public youth work and offers several events. In the area of adult education, there is also a broad range of offers in this region.
